Terms and Conditions

Effective August 4, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of RedactResume.com and app.redactresume.com (together, the "Service"), operated by Eng Hiring LLC ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company, and "you" refers to that company.

1. The Service

The Service lets you upload resumes and other candidate documents, automatically detects identifying details such as names, email addresses, and phone numbers, and produces a redacted copy you can download and share. The Service is a tool for professional recruiting workflows; it is not a substitute for your own review.

2. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms.

3. Plans, Billing, and Payment

4. Your Content and Your Responsibilities

Documents you upload ("Content") remain yours. You grant us a limited license to store and process your Content solely to provide the Service (for example, to detect and redact identifying details and to generate downloadable copies).

Resumes contain personal information about other people. You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to upload and process each document you submit, and that your use of the Service complies with the privacy, data protection, and employment laws that apply to you and your candidates. You are the controller of the candidate data you upload; we process it on your behalf.

5. No Guarantee of Complete Redaction

Redaction is automated and may miss identifying information, or the details you select may be incompletely removed. Before sharing a redacted document, you must review it yourself and confirm it contains nothing you intend to withhold. You are solely responsible for what you share and with whom. We are not liable for any disclosure of information contained in documents you share.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights in the Service other than the right to use it as described here.

8. Privacy

We collect account information, billing information, uploaded documents, and usage analytics to operate and improve the Service. We use service providers including Stripe (payments), Google Analytics, and PostHog (analytics) to do so. We do not sell your Content. You may request deletion of your account and Content by contacting us.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that redaction will be complete or accurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost placements, lost fees, or lost data, arising out of or related to the Service. Our total liability for all claims arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or 50 US dollars if you have paid us nothing.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk or legal exposure for us; where practical, we will give you notice first. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, and we may delete your Content after a reasonable period.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.
